(Education: a strategy for the Total Transformation of HER!) launched in Abeokuta Ogun state on Saturday 4th November 2023.
There was 3 weeks of life skills training featuring seasoned professionals in their various fields taking the girls on
Self confidence and communication,
Vision and career planning,
Developing good mental health,
Personal hygiene and sexual purity,
Starting and managing a business amongst others
Then, an additional 6 weeks of soft skills training on
Fascinators
Baking and confectionaries
Makeup and Gele tying
Beadmaking and leatherwork.
This was followed by an Educational excursion to Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on the 27th of January.
The excursion included a tour of President Olusegun Obasanjo’s memorabilia including vehicles, airplanes and armor tanks used during the civil war and while he was in office.
They also had access to historical artefacts, artworks, priceless gifts from foreign nations, letters, books, remarkable outfits, and a replica of his prison cell among others.
The icing on the cake was the rare privilege the girls got to see Baba, the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo himself for a 2-hour talk that Included a Q&A session about his birth, life history, knowledge and experiences.
With this, Project Esther 2.0 Ogun state cohort is a huge success to the glory of God.
We are immensely grateful to God for his mercies and faithful love. He carried us through this past 10 weeks beautifully and Gracefully.
All 10 girls have been impacted and their lives touched, an experience they won’t forget in a lifetime.
We are immensely grateful to all our facilitators and trainers who took time to touch these girls in one way or another – teaching, training, giving, inspiring and motivating. We celebrate and appreciate you all.
